James W. Barratt Elected 2009-10 Society President
James W. Barratt, a Managing Director with Alvarez and Marsal in Washington, D.C., has been elected 2009-10 President of the Securities and Exchange Commission Historical Society. He is a Certified Public Accountant, and a graduate of the University of California, Santa Barbara. His professional career includes work with FTI Consulting, Inc.; a Big Four public accounting firm; and as an accountant in the SEC Division of Enforcement.
The Society has elected David B.H. Martin, Covington & Burling LLP, as 2009-10 Chairman; and Susan S. Coffey, AICPA, as 2009-10 President-Elect. The following officers have been re-elected for 2009-10:
- W. Scott Bayless, Deloitte & Touche LLP, Treasurer.
- Stacy P. Chittick, FINRA, Vice President for Development.
- Donna M. Nagy, Indiana University Maurer School of Law at Bloomington, Vice President for Museum.
- Richard B. Nesson, The Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation, Secretary.
The Society has elected the following persons to join the Board of Trustees:
- The Honorable Cynthia A. Glassman, former Under Secretary for Economic Affairs, Economics and Statistics Administration, Department of Commerce; and a former SEC Commissioner.
- Angela C. Goelzer, Associate Vice President, FINRA.
- Robert J. Kueppers, Deputy CEO, Deloitte & Touche LLP.
Barratt, Bayless, Chittick, Coffey and George C. McKann of Drinker Biddle & Reath LLP have been re-elected for a second term on the Board of Trustees.

The Society also welcomes 24 new and returning members to the Board of Advisors to form the Class of 2012. The Board of Advisors is a corps of committed volunteer leaders who, while not subject to the governance and fiduciary responsibilities of the Board of Trustees, work to advance the mission of the Society. Re-Launch of www.sechistorical.org on July 1st
A bigger www.sechistorical.org will open on July 1st to accommodate the growing collections of the virtual museum and archive. The expansion of the Web site’s infrastructure is the first since the museum opened on June 1, 2002. The site will also have a new design to help improve visitor use and to distinguish the virtual museum and archive and the SEC Historical Society.
2008 Annual Report
