In this oral history, Donald Calvin describes his career from Illinois securities commissioner at age 26 to executive vice-president of the New York Stock Exchange. He reflects on the paperwork crisis in the late 1960s and early 1070s and the effort to change the Uniform Commercial Code of each state to allow the transfer of securities by bookkeeping entry rather than by the issuance of certificates.
