Paul Gonson – Interview I

Paul Gonson, a Securities and Exchange Commission Historical Society founder, had a 37-year SEC career, 20 of which were as Solicitor overseeing the SEC’s appellate litigation. Mr. Gonson played a key role in a number of insider trading cases, including Dirks v. SEC, which he argued before the Supreme Court. In this oral history, Mr. Gonson reflects on several significant insider trading cases.

Mr. Gonson recorded a second oral history on February 23, 2011 focused on the U.S. Supreme Court, and a third (video) oral history on July 1, 2018 about founding the SEC Historical Society.
