The SEC Historical Society announces the Second Annual Awardees for its Isaac C. Hunt Jr. Hall of Honor. Congratulations to these 2025 Honorees featured in this video:
• Luis A. Aguilar – SEC Commissioner from July 2008 to December 2015. He was a staff attorney at the Atlanta Regional Office from April 1979 through December 1981.
• Carmen J. Lawrence – Regional Director for the SEC’s Northeast Regional from 1995 to 2000. Ms. Lawrence’s SEC Career spans from 1981 to 2000.
• Joy G. Thompson – EXAMS’s Associate Regional Director of the Philadelphia Regional Office, retired from the Commission on March 31, 2025, after 42 years of federal service. Ms. Thompson joined the Commission in 1986.
Background: In 1962, “Ike” Hunt became one of the first African American attorneys at the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, then Corporate Regulation. He went on to have a stellar career in private practice and academia and later returned to the SEC as a Commissioner from 1996 to 2002. To learn more, visit the Spotlight on Ike Hunt.
