Congratulations to the 2026 Hall of Honor recipients
The SEC Historical Society is pleased to celebrate with the Third-Annual awardees for its Isaac C. Hunt Jr. Hall of Honor. The Hall of Honor in Mr. Hunt’s name is part of a larger annual initiative to recognize, honor, and preserve the historical contributions of people from diverse racial and ethnic backgrounds in the financial regulatory community.
The recipients are Eric I. Bustillo, Cicely LaMothe, and Robert A. Marchman. They discuss their careers in this recorded Conversation with moderator Keir Gumbs, Chief Legal Officer at Edward Jones and Trustee of the SEC Historical Society.

Eric I. Bustillo served as Director of the SEC’s Miami Regional Office for 15 years, after serving as Branch Chief (1993–1995) and Staff Attorney (1990–1993). Read his bio.
Cicely LaMothe spent 24 years at the SEC’s Division of Corporation Finance, serving as Acting Director (Dec. 2024– Oct. 2025), Deputy Director (Aug. 2022–Dec. 2025), and Associate Director (June 2014– Aug. 2022), in addition to holding leadership roles from 2002-2014. Read her bio.
Robert A. Marchman served as the SEC’s Senior Policy Advisor on Diversity and Inclusion from Jan. 2020–Sept. 2025. Earlier in his career, he served as the Branch Chief in the SEC’s Division of Enforcement (1983–1989). Read his bio.
About “Ike” Hunt and the Hall of Honor
In 1962, Isaac C. Hunt became one of the first African American attorneys at the SEC’s Division of Investment Management, then Corporate Regulation. He went on to have a stellar career in private practice and academia and later returned to the SEC as commissioner from 1996 to 2002. To learn more, read this Tribute about him.
To launch this initiative, the Society’s VP of Development and Engagement, Ron Long, made a seed gift and is leading an effort to gather support for the Hall to honor future awardees.
